Alcohol not banned BUT Hemp(bhaang) banned.WHY?

As for the other answers, they are all right to a certain point, but opium and the other hard drugs as they have been named are dangerous. Hemp or pot on the other hand is not so much a danger as it is the fact that it can't be totally controlled and taxed. I used to smoke it years ago, but not any more. My personal view point on it is I think the US government should legalize it, not simply for it to be legal, but they could m produce it and resolve some of our deficit from the revenue.
