Does anyone know Asian child development theorist? Plz help me with this?

Plz help me with this. I tried to google for around 5 hours but didn;t find anyone.My instructor told me that i cannot write about vygotsky although he was not white because everyone knows about him.so i am looking for a theorist who is not white.
