Please Help...Dog Coughing..?

Hi wondering if anyone can help please,i have a 17mnth old Staffordshire Bull Terrier and she has developed a hacking type cough..is it poss that dogs can catch colds, she is up to date on all injections etc etc ..she has been walked in really rainy conditions lately ,was wondering if that might have anything to do with it if this persists she will be taken to the vets.Thanks for all your help in advance x
