How would James Bond train an agent?

I am working on a story about a sixteen year old girl being found and "adopted" by James Bond and Alec Trevelyan (of the 1995 film Goldeneye). They train her to be an agent. How do you think they should do it? Should they be tough on her or nice to her or somewhere in between? I am trying to get multiple opinions on this idea so any help/advice is greatly appreciated!
