What do you believe contributes to equal opportunity and how can it best be ensured?

Feminists often invoke "equality" as their root cause but, when that sentiment is compared to communism, they immediately change their tone and say that by "equality" they actually mean "equal opportunity". That begs the question of what constitutes equal opportunity and how can those constituents best be divied? If one person is born into wealth and, as a result, has numerous personal connections developed by the time he reaches adulthood, can't it be argued that his opportunities are greater than the person who is born into poverty? Would a simple scholarship or access to a prestigious university make up for the lack of high-powered connections? uming that it would not (as that to me is the most reasonable answer), how is the opportunity between two such people equalized in the mind of the feminist? Is this simply a tolerable level of "social injustice", or is action required and, if so, what would it be?
