Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the genital region? Chances of survival?

My grand-mother was just diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the genital region (l) and they are putting her through chemotherapy and radiation. It's not on her cervix.. just her lower parts. If it is well contained to this area (Which the doctor says it looks to be) How likely is her chance of recovery? I am not unrealistic and know she is an older woman, but she is so healthy other wise that I am curious to hear from other survivors or people who know about this type of cancer. Thank you so much.
