Has anyone found bad baby meat on the shelves?

I bought some little jars of meat the other day-one of each type to give my son. The ham, beef and veal all appeared to be an odd color when I opened them. I have now thrown them all out and the chicken and turkey were the only ones I could use. Has anyone else noticed this? Am I over-reacting? I don't have the means to cook meat and puree it for him, but I want him to have them. Is there a better brand than Gerber or should I just wait on it until he's older and give him something else and stick with just chicken and turkey for now? Are all the meat jars like this or did I just get a bad batch? I don't want to buy more if they will be bad also.
